Both - actually. Had a Grgich Hills Chardonnay, and a piece of sea bass. It was hard to keep from moaning in front of the other diners. The fact that the restaurant was nestled into the side of a cliff in La Jolla overlooking the cove with sea lions down on the rocks below, and grey whales spouting in the distance didn't hurt either.
Either the food was rubbish or the wine was extraordinary. Which?
