China takes its place in wine world atlas
I really think this announcement is a bit premature. I visited the largest grape growing region in China on my trip - and let me tell you - the wine was not drinkable. They have a long way to go. Mainly because for eons, they have been growing the grapes for fruit and raisins, and often times, those are not the best grapes for wine. The best of what we tasted was a very sweet sherry like table wine, and the worst was cat piss.

However, their fresh grapes and dried fruit were magnificent.
