Gouging?
How is it that the average cost of gas in Baltimore right now is about $3.15 - $3.19 a gallon, and yet in places we went to on the Eastern Shore and Shore this weekend, it was routinely as low as $2.75, and even $2.72 in some places?

That's a $7 difference for a 15 gallon tank!!

    Actually, the reason for this is due to the different environmental standards on the Eastern Shore versus the Baltimore/DC side of the Bay. The gas on the Eastern Shore does not require any of the additives that you need on this side in order to burn cleaner.

    Another way to see this at work is to look at the gas pumps. Notice that on the Eastern Shore, they do not have the sleeves we see on this side of the Bay. There was actually a piece on this somewhere on the radio last week.
