Fierce fighting kills ...... |
The death toll for the current Isreali - Hezbollah conflict is:
As of Tuesday, 557 Lebanese civilians and soldiers have died and 2,128 have been wounded in the conflict thus far, according to Lebanon's Internal Security Forces.
Israel has reported 51 deaths, including 19 civilians killed by Hezbollah rocket attacks. Meanwhile, back in Iraq, TODAY'S death toll is:
*A trio of morning car bomb attacks in Iraq on Tuesday killed at least 39 people -- most of them Iraqi soldiers -- and wounded more than 50 others...
*In Muqdadiya, a car bomb targeted a police patrol, killing six people, including one police officer, and wounded nine others, including three police...
*A U.S. soldier was killed Tuesday in action in Anbar, according to the U.S. military, bringing the U.S. military death toll in Iraq to 2,578.
*In the southern city of Basra, a British soldier assigned to the 1st Battalion Light Infantry was killed Tuesday when the base came under a mortar attack... By my count, that's 47 dead and more than 50 wounded in Iraq, nearly twice that of the Lebanese or Isreali's in a single day. |
