Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. - Cyril Connolly

Yo Mama
If you didn't watch the last half and overtime of the World Cup yesterday, you missed some amazing Soccer.
"He told me Materazzi said something very serious to him but he wouldn't tell me what," agent Alain Migliaccio told BBC Five Live Sport.

Sources in France say it is believed Materazzi insulted Zidane's mother.
I'm sorry, that just does not justify a viscious, bullying attack. Especially, when you are the captain of your team in overtime for the World Cup. I'm sure his mother would agree, and is more ashamed of him, than proud of his misplaced chivalry.

'your mom' slander and supposed chivalry against it, has nothing to do with moms. if one attacks one's mom in a rhetorically violent manner, it's a call for violence. if one attacks one's mother in an environment where they think they are safe from violence, than they are a coward. I'm not saying he was right, but if the guy did say something about the guy's mom, then he got what he deserved. right and wrong has nothing to do with it.

'you mom' politics are very complicated.

Penalty kicks that the goalies barely have a chance to defend are amazing? I've never seen a sport decided by such a random sort of skillset. I'd rather they just keep playing periods to make it more fair.

That was my first soccer match I've watched and I came away pretty disappointed in how the game was decided.

Now that it's come out that the insult was something along the lines of "MAy you and your family die a terrible death," it's apparent that the insult was almost quaint.

And hey - here's a question: in which language do international soccer players swear at one another? Italian? Portuguese? Esperanto?

What is the International Language of Soccer Swearing?
