Sure, the Hummer's owner looks like a crass tool who clearly chose image over sensibility but that doesn’t mean he should suffer the consequences of such an extremist view.
That story is ridiculous all around. It especially irks me when Hummer drivers park their unnecessarily large vehicles on the street taking up more than their fair share of ltd. space.
But to vandalize it in the name of environmentalism? Body shop work is not good for the planet. New windows, new paint = more resources, energy used up.
Way to make people who have thoughtful concerns about the environment look like wackos.

This actually DOES look like it might be a hate crime. He was targeted because of a specific trait, and the crime could be construed as an attempt to terrorize others who also had "non-eco-friendly" vehicles.
