Snowday |
Well, the doomsayers were right for once. Instead of 6"-10", I've got a solid 13"-15" out back, and am getting ready to go dig out the walkways and the car. To fortify myself, I made the breakfast that was always a winter staple in our house growing up: hot chocolate and Cream of Wheat with milk and brown sugar.

The maintenance guys are out plowing out my walk as we speak ... of course, that's why I pay rent. Wish they'd do my car, too.

Thanks to our Homeowner's fees, we get our sidewalks and courtyard cleared, and since I live on a private alleyway, we get that plowed too, but I still have to dig a path out through the back garden and dig the car out to the alley.

No homeowner's fee here. I shoveled my front, I shovel my backyard, I shoveled my car, I shoveled my neighbors front too. I got out my brand new bag of Calcium carbonate/magnesium chloride mix and carefully sprinkled it over my work. It was quite satisfying. No need for an upper and lower body workout today.

It only counts as exercise if you had fun doing it. We had a major snowball battle, using the cars in our lot for cover. For about a half hour, 5 adults acted like complete and total kids. THAT'S exercise! Well, that and helping each other dig out the cars and walkways....
