New Copy Layout |
Well, let me know what you think about the new look while I work out some bugs. I found the basic template format on an Indonesian website and really liked it, but when I downloaded the template and went to add my own coding changes, I realized all the HTML tags were in Indonesian. It took me a while to figure out that [judulkanan] = [header], and [tr] = [p] in English, but after that, it was easy.
I meant to do this over the Christmas break, but was just too busy with family and friends. Then, I tried to get it done by my blogiversary (which was Jan. 3rd BTW), but that didn't happen either, so along with a few other New Year resolutions, it's a little late, but I got it done.
You'll notice I fixed a lot of broken links and updated my blogroll extensively to include all the local folks I read and who read this blog, and more importantly, that I've met (most of them anyway) and become friends with over the last year. So - a big Broadsheet welcome to:

PS: Does anyone out there (I'm looking at you Jason), have a list or tables for HTML color codes??
PSS: Gahhhh! How could I POSSIBLY not mention the addition of Fruit Loops and Porn! Sorry Bonanza Jelly Bean!! |

I love it. It looks really great.
Here's my favorite list of color codes.
-
Seadragon - EXACTLY what I was looking for!! Now maybe I can figure out why some posts are titled in blue, and others in grey? The blue on red is kinda hard on the eyes.
-
Hey woman, you are looking good, and so is the new blog.
-
Yeah, I noticed that blue on red just after I left the comment saying how great the new design is. That's the only thing I don't like so much about it. :)
Anyway, I assume it's because the blue titles are actually links. If you want to change that, then you'll have to specify a different color for links.
Here's the code you'd be looking for if you want to change this.
A:link { color: #6666CC; text-decoration: none; } A:visited { color: #996699; text-decoration: none; } A:active { color: #99CC66; text-decoration: underline; } A:hover { color: #99CC66; text-decoration: underline; }

Some of your titles are in blue because they're links. You can either change the color of your links or figure out why the [a href=] tag is showing up in your titles (if you're not putting it there).

Seadragon and SC - THANKS! I can change the link color. I just have to figure out what the Indonesian HTML tag is for the link format in English...sigh....
-
And you alphabitized your blogroll too!! AWESOME!!

Looks good. Here is another list of colors that also includes the standard color names. You can use the names in place of the hex values in the inline CSS of your template.
A:link { color: #AliceBlue; text-decoration: none; }

As soon as I meet you I will add you to my blog list. (I have a silly rule about that)
The new format looks great and is very readible.

Sorry to have missed the public callout concerning HTML color codes, but I maintained a pretty tech-free weekend. You got the help you needed from seadragon and SC.
The one thing to keep in mind, though, is that if most of the Blogger.com templates are using CSS, you can define a lot of things about your layout--font sizes, colors, etc.--there. It may take a bit of Googling, but CSS makes this kind of nice.
Nonetheless, nice work cleaning up the place. Have fun translating Indonesian! At least the tag values are still the same.
