Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. - Cyril Connolly

And on the sixth day, he created.......
The new iPhone. OOOOOO - shiny, my Preshhhhussss!

I do wonder how well the touch screen will work from a durability perspective. Whether or not you'll have to lock and unlock it every time you want to use it to avoid auto dialing or auto surfing, and the screen looks a bit delicate in terms of scratch resistance, which was/is a big problem with the iPod Nano.

Nevertheless, at $500 for 4G and $600 for 8G respectively (a mere $100 for twice the Gigabytes!), the two year contract on my Razr is up in July, and it's going to be mighty tempting. Funny thing is, I bought the Razr when it had been on the market just a month or two....two years later - it's yesterday's news.

1st gen apple products become obsolete and over-expensive rapidly. I'd wait for the 2nd gen or even 3rd.

Have you even noticed that the phone is not going to be out for 6 months, and even then it supports older cell phone data standard--GSM. Further, it's battery life is terrible, so don't plan on watching video and getting phone calls or your phone will die.

The camera has no flash or zoom, making Nokia's phones that much better.

You are paying a lot of money for an inadequate phone. Sure, it's better than the ROKR, but it leaves much to be desired.

Oh well, enjoy overpaying for what other phones do cheaper and better. The view outside of the reality distortion field is much clearer.

Ditto to ACW; specifically, this first-gen only does EDGE.

I have the Q right now. Although the iPhone is pretty, I think waiting a few Generations is probably a good idea on this one.
