What's up with this Doc? |
Did you see this? I can see updating the characters, but this is really awful!!! Instead of cute and cuddly, they've made them all dark and sinister looking.
Six of the original Looney Tunes characters have been "reimagined" (in studio parlance) for a new series called "Loonatics," set in 2772. The show will feature new versions of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, the Tasmanian Devil, Road Runner and Lola Bunny.
Allright, call me old fashioned, hell call me old, but I like the originals better.
I just can't imagine the new Bugs chomping on a carrot, and asking in a wise guy voice "Eh...What's up doc?", or Daffy Duck (who looks more like Digi-Duck than Daffy), calling Bugs "Silly Wabbit". |

that looks like they're trying to rip off the style of Batman: Beyond, which was very successful, but is also somewhat noir to begin with... what an abomination... where'd you find it?

Sorry - I forgot to post the link. Fixed now. Click on the grpahic in the link and look at the other characters. Really, really, awful stuff.

Gosh! Can I join you guys in the Grumpy Old Gits Corner? What a bloody disgrace; still take comfort the film will bomb out of sight and many a budding motion career will be forever, and justifiably, blighted.

I like how the items mention the Teen Titans without mentioning that that was a comic book long before it became a cartoon, as if it was the same as Tiny Toons or Muppet Babies... good lord, people are idiots.
That said, I am still willing to give this a chance until I actually see it, because I can imagine that as a child who's never seen the classic pre-war Looney Tunes, this could be pretty cool. And I don't want to be all Prince Charles about this...

If you put these characters in front of a child who had never seen the originals, and ask them to identify what animals they are, I doubt they would say: rabbit, coyote, duck, road runner / bird, and OK - I'll grant you that even we kids wouldn't have known about a Tasmanian Devil, but still. And their eyes have no pupils! How evil is that?? And superpowers? Puh-lease! Give me Acme anvils and dynamite anyday.
