Britain to welcome MacArthur home |
That's Dame MacArthur, thanks very much!!
She crossed the finish line at 2229 GMT on Monday, completing her 27,348-mile voyage in 71 days 14 hours 18 minutes and 33 seconds.
That time meant she smashed the previous mark, set in 2004 by Frenchman Francis Joyon, by nearly 33 hours. Very, very cool. |

...,and it would be 'Dame Ellen' if we are striving for accuracy. I can do a short seminar on this should you wish - no charge.

Whatever you call her - you have every right to be very, very, proud of her and claim her as a Brit.

Yes, I think I can say that we are all really quite pleased, but in a very British, Celia Johnson, Trevor Howard sort of a way.

Quit jumping about and making such a scene! You Brits - such an exuberant, loud, exciteable lot ;-)

Wait; is she a SCOTTISH boat? Fueled by haggis, no doot...
